• Alcohol reliance and abuse cost the United States approximately $220 billion in 2005. For the sake of evaluation, this was larger than the amount of money exhausted to combat cancer ($196 billion) and obesity ($133 billion).
• 25.9% of juvenile alcohol abusers drink 47.3% of the entire amount of alcohol consumed by drinkers under the lawful age.
