CALL 1-800-468-6933 FOR TREATMENT HELP NOW!

Do you know someone who needs help to recover from addiction to drugs or alcohol? Are you looking for a drug rehabilitation center that offers an alternative form of treatment with a proven track record of success? Narconon Arrowhead is an addiction treatment facility located in beautiful Arrowhead State Park on the banks of Lake Eufaula. Tulsa is the nearest large city and also has the nearest airport, but Narconon Arrowhead is within driving distance of all major cities in Oklahoma (and even surrounding states such as Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and Missouri.)  Altus residents have the advantage of being less than 4 hours away from the nationally renowned Narconon Arrowhead treatment center which has been certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.  For 25 years, Narconon Arrowhead has been nationally recognized as one of the most effective addiction treatment programs.

The CARF-accredited Narconon Arrowhead program uses a unique approach that treats each person as an individual, addressing their particular needs. An addict arrives at Narconon Arrowhead and is first assisted in withdrawing from drugs or alcohol as comfortably as is possible. The next stage of the process is a detoxification in which the person rids his body of every last trace of drugs that has lodged itself in the fatty tissues. Left unaddressed, these traces can cause flashbacks or trigger undesired drug-induced “highs” or other effects even months or years after the person has stopped taking drugs. Since this would clearly not assist the person who is recovering from addiction, the detoxification process is an important step on the road to recovery. Next the patient is stabilized in their new, drug-free condition. (It is important to note the Narconon Arrowhead does not employ substitute chemical or medical substances in place of the drugs the person was addicted to. A person emerges from our program truly drug free.) The last step in the recovery process is learning life “tools” that can assist the person to stay sober and to address their problems with solutions that do not involve drugs or alcohol as a coping mechanism.  Over 11,000 people who were battling addiction trusted Narconon Arrowhead with their savings their lives.  If you or a loved one is facing a serious addiction, come to Narconon Arrowhead to receive proven, individualized treatment!

Drug Rehab Near Altus

The drug problem in Oklahoma is a concern to citizens and government officials alike. Altus has seen its share of drug-related crime, including drive-by shootings spurred by gang wars over territory for drug sales. Drugs typically reach Altus from cities near the border with Mexico.  Effective drug treatment has been made a top priority in Altus to help fight against the ever-growing addiction problem.  Narconon Arrowhead is easily accessible from the city of Altus from I-44 E and I-40 E, and can provide an addict with a new beginning in a healthier environment.

Drug Abuse in Altus OK is a Local Issue

In Altus, two rival gangs have competed for turf and for customers, endangering the lives of average citizens. In 2007 an infant was injured during a drive-by shooting. Police have made some inroads in their fight against drug abuse and drug trafficking, arresting suspects after obtaining warrants to search the homes of suspected dealers. Another way to fight against drug-related crime is to cut off the market for drugs. Effective drug rehabilitation, like that found at Narconon Arrowhead, turns users into upstanding citizens, thereby shrinking the pool of potential customers.

Illegal drug use is not the only problem facing Oklahoma. The state has some of the worst prescription-drug-abuse statistics in the country. In fact, about 9.7 million prescriptions were filled for controlled substances last year. The population of Oklahoma was just over 3.8 million in 2014, so it is clear that abuse of prescription medications is a serious situation. Legislators have been working to create a law that would help limit the number of people receiving prescriptions for controlled substances from multiple doctors (a practice known as “doctor shopping.”) The law would require doctors to check a state-wide database before writing a prescription to ensure that the patient doesn’t already have a similar or identical prescription elsewhere. It would also require that the database be checked again every 180 days. A similar law that would have required a check every time a prescription is written was killed earlier this year by medical lobby groups citing the undue burden it would have placed upon the medical profession. The new bill, a compromise the medical groups support, passed the Health and Human Services Committee with an 8-1 vote. It should be ready to go before the Governor, Mary Fallin, after passing a full Senate vote. Fallin supports the measure and is expected to sign it into law immediately.
