COWETA DRUG & ALCOHOL REHAB HELP

CALL 1-800-468-6933 FOR TREATMENT HELP NOW!

America’s drug problem has been around for many years, and recently it has just gotten worse. The easy availability of strong prescription pain killers and anti-anxiety medications has created a generation that believes they just have to pop a pill to make all their troubles disappear. In addition, meth labs have sprung up all over the state. More Oklahomans die from drug overdoses than from car accidents every year. In our culture, drugs are everywhere. Most people know someone who is abusing drugs or alcohol, but they aren’t sure where to turn for real help. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction to alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription medications, help is available. Drug and Alcohol Help Near Coweta

Coweta residents can feel confident knowing that Narconon is only a short drive away.  Our treatment center is easily accessible via OK-72 S and US-69S.  Narconon’s program begins with a full, assisted withdrawal. The next step addresses drug residues left over in the body after withdrawal is complete. Research has shown that drugs get trapped in the fatty tissues of the body and can re-enter the bloodstream long after the last time they were taken. These deposits cause mental fogginess, recurrences of the drug’s effects, and strong cravings for more drugs. If these drug deposits are not removed, they can prevent a full, lasting recovery. To handle this Narconon offers something called the Narconon New Life Detoxification. This process eliminates the drug deposits from the body, bringing about greater mental clarity and a reduction or elimination of cravings.

Narconon’s Multi-faceted Approach

Once the physical detoxification is complete, it is time to move on to the mental aspects of addiction. The person learns how to recognize and then effectively address the factors in life that caused the addiction in the first place. One important tool they learn is how to use communication to build strong, healthy relationships. Another crucial tool is how to face up to the things they have done that they shouldn’t have. Most recovering addicts feel guilt and depression when they realize just how badly they have messed up their lives. Fortunately, these feelings disappear when faced with application of Narconon’s life skills training regimen, bringing about a growing self-confidence and an ability to bring their life back under their control.

The Drug Problem in Coweta

Drug abuse is not just something that you hear about in national news stories. It happens in our own back yard. Earlier this month, four people were arrested and jailed in a meth lab sting operation. Officers discovered drug paraphernalia and equipment used to manufacture meth in a house on South 253rd East Avenue near Coweta. In addition to possession of drug paraphernalia and endeavoring to manufacture a controlled substance, two of the suspects were charged with maintaining a property where drugs are manufactured.

Like so many issues facing our state, one of the keys to addressing drug abuse lies in early education regarding the truth about drugs. If young children were taught what drugs are, how to resist peer pressure, and the true effects of drugs on a person’s life, it is likely that fewer of them would succumb to drug abuse in the future. Accordingly, the Coweta Police Department has named a new D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) officer. Officer Lacey Keel attended a D.A.R.E training program and is now ready to teach drug education to students from kindergarten to 12th grade. At first, however, she will be focusing on 4th graders, because this is where she feels she can do the most good, catching the students before they are in high-risk situations.
