guysThis is the story of how a Mother got her son back through his completing the Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation program at Narconon Arrowhead. The Oklahoma-based long-term residential rehab center has a long history of saving lives from addiction. This is a Mother’s story of what happened in her life when her son reclaimed his life from addiction.

Before Narconon Arrowhead

Susan says that before her son, Joe, got to Narconon Arrowhead, her life was terrible. She couldn’t function, and sought counseling to help her cope with the anxiety she experienced as a result of being so afraid for her son all the time.

“It consumed my whole life”, she says. She had trouble working, and “it wasn’t the kind of life a person should have.” She says she was filled with fear for her son because of the things he was doing.

She says her son affected her in every aspect of her life—financially and emotionally—and what was happening with him had an overall effect upon her life.

The Changes

Once Joe was at Narconon Arrowhead on the Narconon program, his Mother says she began to see changes. “He definitely matured as a person” as he went through the rehab program.” It was about half-way through that she saw him start coming more alive, and begin to be more himself.

“The son I used to know what coming back out!”

Susan says that the Narconon program helped her son Joe find himself as a person. And he grew as a person, too. If it wasn’t for Narconon, she doesn’t think she would still have her son today.

Life After Narconon Arrowhead

Joe’s Mother says that since completing the Narconon program, her son is back working and he’s feeling good about himself. Susan emphasizes once more that Joe has “become himself” again since completing the rehab program at Narconon Arrowhead.

Joe is not afraid to say what he thinks, Susan says, and she thinks that is where Narconon really helped her son—because he can express himself now. She says he was always a “people pleaser”, and Narconon just helped him to be himself, to understand his feelings, to express his feelings—and to get out of the drug circle.

Susan shares with the reader that she would most definitely recommend Narconon Arrowhead and the Narconon drug and alcohol rehabilitation program to one of her friends who had a daughter or a son who was drug addicted.

“Narconon is the place to go”, says Susan. “That is where you want to have your child.” A place, she says, where your child can be safe, and can find themselves.

It isn’t just addressing the drug problem, she says, saying “Okay! They’re all fixed!” and then sending them home. Rather, it helps the person find themselves, says Susan.

“That’s the beauty of Narconon. That’s the place you want your child to be.”
