A Spotlight Presentation

A spotlight presentation showcases the important points and objectives of the subject being addressed. The speaker traditionally has a maximum of 10 minutes to share the audience-targeted information, including taking audience questions. A spotlight presentation usually allows 8 minutes for delivery of the information, and 2 minutes set-aside for audience questions.

Oftentimes, the spotlight presenter shares flyers or promotional handouts with attendees, providing written material germane to the presentation, including the presenter’s contact information.

About McCoCo

Established in 2001, the McIntosh County Coalition of Healthy Community is often referred to as McCoCo, or simply—the Coalition.

The Coalition focuses on:

  • Preventing substance abuse
  • Educating and empowering youth
  • Tobacco control
  • Alternative activities for youth
  • Mobilizing the community

Since its establishment in McIntosh County, this Coalition has succeeded in bringing a number of much needed resources to the area communities. These include a Drug-Free Communities Grant, a Tobacco Control Grant, and Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth (OCCY) grants.

The Coalition seeks to provide resources and services to its rural area, and focuses on youth as a priority. Resources to date include a county resource directory, alternative activities for the community and its youth, and opportunities for youth empowerment and development.

McCoCo works diligently to ensure that community youth have a healthy and safe place to grow-up. Due to the rural nature of McIntosh County, its small towns and limited resources, the Coalition focuses on collaborating, partnering and gathering resources to make the county a healthier place for its residents to work, play and live.
