manThere is probably not an addict or alcoholic alive today who ever thought he or she would become a slave to substance abuse. There is probably not one who does not wish that he or she could go back in time and undo what has been done–and choose a different path in life. While the despair and hopelessness of ever breaking free from the chains of addiction can be overwhelming, there is still hope. It can be done, and this is a personal story of one addict who who did it.

Wayne

Wayne begins his story by sharing what his life was like as an addict. He says the drugs had torn him apart, and he was in a downward spiral.

“My family considered me hopeless”, he says.

According to Wayne, he was careless with his actions, and he had been “hibernating from the world.” The drugs, he says, just took him away to a point where he felt like there was going to be no way out for him—and he could “ not return to normal civilization again.”

Wayne also says he could not hold a job due to his drug use. The drugs “just ate me away”, little by little. “Soon”, he says, “I became nobody.”

Arriving at Narconon Arrowhead

When he first arrived at Narconon Arrowhead, Wayne says the staff in the building just welcomed him “with open arms.” It was interesting, to say the least, he shares. It was not what he expected. He says when he walked down the halls, everyone would say, “Hi! How ya’ doing?” Everybody seemed happy, and to him, it was amazing.

He says it was definitely not something one would expect out of a drug rehabilitation center.

Wayne shares that he had previously been to two other drug rehabs, and the “28-day programs”, and they were “nothing like this one.”

“Narconon has everything to offer”, Wayne says, “Including happiness”. He adds that “Everybody here is just one big family.”

A Life-Changing Experience

There was a point during the New-Life Detoxification Program, (Narconon Sauna or Sauna Program), where Wayne says he was sitting in the sauna, and he felt “unbelievable!” He shares that he doesn’t even think he can explain in words how good he felt at that moment.

He says that at that moment, “I felt relieved of all the drugs I had ever done.”

From that point in his life, Wayne shares, “It has changed my life forever.”

According to Wayne, there is no high, no drug—and he says he has done them all—that can ever give him or make him feel as good, “as that moment in time did in that sauna.”

The Future

Now that he is done with the Narconon program, Wayne shares with the reader that “I have my life back.” And he adds, “My family has their son back.”

“I am ready to start living life on life’s terms.”

Wayne shares that he is happier now than he has been at any time in his life; that he feels healthier now than at any time in his life; and that he is taking care of himself.

He shares with the reader that he now knows that when a person loves themself, “They can love everyone around them.”

The Narconon program at Narconon Arrowhead “has given me my life back.”

“Thank you, Narconon.”
