Narconon Arrowhead has been helping individuals overcome addiction and find a sober life once again since it opened its doors at its present location in 2001. Known for its holistic drug-free approach to rehabilitation and its outcome-based results, Narconon Arrowhead is dedicated to helping addicts reclaim their lives from addiction. Amy is one such addict, and this is her story.
Before Narconon Arrowhead
Before Narconon Arrowhead, Amy says her life was miserable; that she herself was miserable. She no longer had any relationship with her family. Amy says that nobody trusted her anymore; and that she was “screwing people over” every day, all day; even those she cared about the most. “It was horrible”, Amy says.
Just before coming to Narconon Arrowhead, Amy says she had no relationship with her family at all. Her Mother had disowned her; and she no longer spent the Christmas holiday with her family—missing the last three Christmases with them.
Amy was lying constantly to her Mom and her sister. She says that neither one of them trusted her or liked her anymore. She says neither one of them wanted anything to do with her at all.
Arriving at Narconon Arrowhead
When she first arrived at Narconon Arrowhead, Amy says it wasn’t what she expected at all.
She wasn’t happy when she first got there, but with the staff who were working in Drug-Free Withdrawal where she started the program—she felt they really cared. Amy says the staff knew what she was going through; they knew how to help her get through withdrawal without using drugs; which was a new experience for her. “Everybody was great”, Amy says, “and I felt really comfortable”.
The Program at Narconon Arrowhead
Amy found the sauna part of the program, the Narconon New-Life Detoxification Program, was definitely a favorite part of the rehab program for her; adding that it was one of the things that helped her the most.
She says when she began the sauna component of the program; she was not quite herself quite yet. But about mid-way through, she started feeling a lot better–once again “like back to myself.” Amy found she had more energy, and that she was able to do more. She found she was definitely happier; and that she could see that difference in herself.
Amy says that while there was not a particular phase of the Narconon program she feels benefited her the most; she does know that it was towards the end of the full program when she saw the most change in herself.
Included in the changes she saw were an increase in her responsibility level; that she was able to really mend things with her family; and she had become more focused on her future.
Amy shares with those reading her story that she wants them to know the Narconon program worked for her. She adds that no other treatment program was able to change her the way the Narconon program did.
