I Found the Me I Used to Be

I came to Narconon Arrowhead because I was tired of hurting people around me. I am blessed with some amazing people who don’t deserve me. I found the “me” I used to be that “we” dealt with over the past couple of months at Narconon, and will continue to make sure that guy we dealt with stays gone.
When I found out about Narconon, all I heard was “sauna,” “niacin,” and “no drugs,” and I was sold. Then I got here and saw the rest of the program. It truly worried me just how different it seemed. However, I was determined (minus a few setbacks along the way) to give it my all.
Through withdrawal and sauna (New Life Detoxification), I definitely started feeling better. I started New Life Detoxification excited and ready to see what might happen. I had heard and read about niacin and its potential benefits long before I had heard of Narconon, so I was elated at the chance. It did not take long for me to notice certain benefits health-wise. I dropped some excess weight, which made me feel healthier. I felt a bit more mentally focused. I did feel toxins, radiation and even cocaine leaving my body. Certainly successes!!

The Objectives threw me for a loop. I was so confused by what they could possibly do for me. However, by number 3, I was having emotional realizations that continued throughout. I regained the ability to know I’m strong enough to push through difficult things and challenges in my life. And I know I have the endurance to overcome them.
Then I moved on to Overcoming Ups and Downs. For me, this was a much-needed refresher of who I should and shouldn’t have around me. It was also the time I got to talk to my kids after about 60 days here (due to work schedules). That was a highlight of the course.
Personal Values was a great and much-needed course. There was a sense of relief getting through writing up my overts and withholds.
Changing Conditions was, to me, the most important part—I saw my patterns and the pain I caused to loved ones and to myself, and it validated some things I kind of already knew. Work, fill down time, and take care of me!!
I truly appreciate everyone here at Narconon Arrowhead!
