manJason admits that before he arrived at Narconon his life was pretty isolated. His entire life and existence revolved around scoring and using drugs, but it was a lonely life. He would go out and score drugs with individuals he called his friends, and after they returned home and got high, these “friends” would head out. Jason found himself alone, which pushed him hard into more drug cravings. He’d then use more drugs in order to isolate himself farther from the reality of the world around him. Drugs pushed him away from his family and from anyone who considered themselves his friends. He became a total shut-in, and simply wouldn’t talk with or interact with anyone around him. Drugs were his entire life.

Getting True Help

Jason participated in a series of treatment programs prior to arriving at Narconon Arrowhead, and despite subtle differences between them he feels that the main message was always the same. These treatment programs promised to give him various steps he could use to recover, but at the same time they essentially told him that full and lasting recovery was not actually possible. Jason was perpetually told that he was sick and would never be able to fully get away from the problems of drug addiction, but would fight these problems for the rest of his life. To Jason, this was unacceptable, and he felt that with the right tools he should be able to actually and permanently recover for a better, healthier life. He is glad that Narconon has proven him right.

While it was never easy, the overall Narconon experience was enjoyable for Jason. He felt that it was laid back and fun, as there was no pressure to hurry up and “be well”. The staff made it very clear that they really care about each individual, who they are, where they came from and how they can build better lives. Jason was impressed with the fact that every single staff member genuinely cared about him and wanted to see him succeed in taking his life back from drugs. They were light-hearted, happy and compassionate individuals who know they are making a difference in people’s lives and are very happy to be doing so. Jason feels that it was their attention to detail that made the entire recovery experience enjoyable to him.

Jason feels that Narconon was so effective for him because it gave him the tools to empower himself for recovery. The Narconon life skills courses gave Jason a way to pull himself up out of the despair that he found himself in and to build and maintain a successful future. Through the Narconon program, Jason felt the promise of success if he was willing to learn and apply himself, taking control of his own life and actions. The tools were his for the taking, and promised him great happiness if he only used them.

Now that Jason has completed the Narconon program he feels like he has himself back. He remembers that little boy who used to enjoy trick-or-treating with his sisters, and who felt light-hearted and fancy-free, and it seems to him that even as an adult he now enjoys that same wonderful feeling. He finds it very freeing to be able to walk around with his head held high and with a clear conscience. Every day he awakens with a wonderful burst of energy in his chest – knowing exactly what he’s going to accomplish that day and that it’s going to be a very good day. He is grateful to Narconon for helping him take back himself, and the joy of life and living, so that he can truly enjoy every moment of every day, entirely without drugs.
