About McCoCo

Established in 2001, the McIntosh County Coalition for a Healthy Community focuses on bringing much needed resources to local communities. Since its inception, McCoCo has secured a Drug Free Communities Grant, a Tobacco Control Grant, established Systems of Care and alternative activities for the community and for youth.

McIntosh County is a rural area of numerous small towns and limited resources. McCoCo, as a rural coalition, focuses on bridging the gaps by providing resources and services to the area through partnering, collaborating, and pulling together needed resources—all to the end of making McIntosh County a healthier place to live, work and play.

Youth-related issues are a priority for McCoCo, and energies and resources are directed towards providing community youth with a safe and healthy environment in which to grow-up. McCoCo sponsors alternative activities for youth, such as After Prom Parties, and offers healthy choices to local teens.

McCoCo focues on the partnership priorities of tobacco control, ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drug) prevention, alternative youth activities, youth education, youth empowerment, and community information sharing, networking and mobilization.

The Resource Health Fair 2015 promises to further those community enhancing goals.
