During the holiday season, many organizations ask for support and donations to aid those in need. Many individuals make donations in the amount they can afford, and these donations are highly appreciated and most helpful. Many organizations also arrange various food and toy drives during the holidays, seeking to bring holiday cheer to those who may otherwise go without. One of the most important ways of giving is when a community service organization itself seeks to help other similar organizations.
Narconon Arrowhead is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in southern Oklahoma that does far more than assist people in achieving sobriety from drugs and alcohol. Narconon Arrowhead also reaches out to the community, routinely participating in a variety of community service activities and projects that benefit other organizations and individuals in need. This year marked Narconon Arrowhead’s seventh annual Food Pantry Drive, and Hope House of McAlester was one of the many organizations that benefited from this drive.
About Hope House of McAlester
Hope House of McAlester’s mission is “To provide a Christ-focused nurturing environment to empower women and their children to become productive, self-sufficient, contributing members of their community.” Hope House of McAlester is a supportive shelter that provides valuable services including transportation, food, clothing, job search, nutrition education, budgeting, healthcare referrals, housing assistance, skills training, specialized classes, case management, counseling, emergency shelter, and many other services that families need.
In providing stimulating activities, education and individual empowerment, Hope House seeks to achieve the following goals:
– Continually grow as an organization while also expanding its range of available services in order to help more individuals who are in need in the community.
– Increase local and national communities’ awareness of Hope House, its mission and the services it offers to those in need.
– Expand the group of professional staff of Hope House to include more professionals from different fields and therefore better serve a wider sphere of needs.
– Build a firm foundation that will allow the organization to grow smoothly and efficiently and continue to serve those in need.
– Build an outstanding reputation for delivering high quality services within the resources available.
– Help create positive and enduring changes in the lives of those who participate in the services offered by Hope House.
– Build strong, long-lasting relationships and partnerships with other local community-service organizations who share similar goals and visions for the community.
Hope House realizes that many women struggle to gain access to the services and therapies they need due to financial difficulties. Hope House desires to help these women and relies largely on receiving donations and contributions from others, like Narconon Arrowhead. Hope House maintains low administrative costs, high quality programming, and routine outcome monitoring to ensure that they are indeed meeting their goals while stretching their donations and contributions as far as they can.
Narconon Arrowhead’s donation to Hope House
The Narconon Arrowhead donation crew was greeted by Hope House employees Chelsea Seipz and Jessica Gregg as well as some of the nine women and ten children in residence, who gratefully and happily accepted the donations. Hope House routinely receives donations from many individuals and organizations, but for the last five years Narconon Arrowhead has gone above and beyond by providing such essential items like diapers, deordorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, trash bags, laundry detergent and other requested and needed necessities. These important items can assist the women in the facility in restoring a normal daily living pattern for themselves and their children.
Narconon Arrowhead recognizes the vital importance of helping others in the community, and is happy to once again be part of the holiday gift-giving at this important local facility.
