In September of this year will be the 24th annual celebration of Recovery Month, also known as National Recovery Month. It is a national celebration highlighting those who have reclaimed their lives and continue to live happy and healthy lives, living in long-term recovery. Additionally, Recovery Month recognizes those providing services in the field or prevention, treatment and recovery, and who are an integral and essential part of making recovery possible. Recovery Month forwards the hopeful message that recovery in all its forms is truly possible, and encourages individuals to get involved and take action, helping to expand and improve the availability of effective prevention, treatment and recovery services for individuals in need.
An Overview of National Recovery Month
In observance of SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) National Recovery Month, an informational campaign will be executed through the dissemination of printed materials, information shared via the internet, television and radio, and through social media tools, as well. The informational campaign will serve to provide informational and educational materials and resources with the purpose of providing assistance to local community outreach programs, and encouraging individuals in need of help to seek treatment.
Narconon Arrowhead and National Recovery Month
Narconon Arrowhead, Oklahoma’s premiere drug rehabilitation treatment center and the largest of the Narconon centers worldwide, fully supports and annually participates in the celebration of National Recovery Month. In addition to the longtime delivery of their successful alternative approach to rehabilitation and the effective drug prevention education provided to tens of thousands of students in the state of Oklahoma and surrounding states, Narconon Arrowhead continues to be at the forefront of the effort to prevent substance abuse through community outreach, helping to make a safer and drug-free environment for all.
This year, in celebration and support of Recovery Month, Narconon Arrowhead is presenting their new coloring book, Be A Winner, Kids! Say No to Drugs! It is, as it states on the cover of the coloring book, A Drug Education Coloring Book for Kids of All Ages.
With a whimsical and colorfully illustrated cover which will appeal to kids and invite their interest and participation, it also carries the vital message to stay away from drugs, and participate in life.
Throughout the twelve pages of the coloring book, the message to stay active and healthy and happy, to participate in activities with family and friends, to read and learn, and to live life drug-free is presented in delightful rhyming verse, especially appealing to children, and positioned with fun and child-friendly illustrations for coloring.
The drug education coloring book is designed to be a gift from Narconon Arrowhead Drug Rehabilitation and Education Services. It is an innovative new tool which can be used to help forward the “say no to drugs” message to children, and will contribute to the ongoing success of the center’s long-term drug education efforts.
The final page of the coloring book states, We are here to help. It provides contact information for the Narconon Arrowhead Drug Education Department, and includes who this department services with free drug education: youth groups, schools, churches, clubs, and organizations. And although this wonderful coloring books was especially created for children, Narconon Arrowhead does provide drug education for both children and adults.
