Like many other drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, Narconon Arrowhead seeks to truly rehabilitate the individuals who come to them for help. They seek to not only assist the individual in withdrawing from drugs, but also in gaining what they need to move forward into a drug-free, productive future. This includes eliminating drug cravings, taking responsibility for past drug use, and learning the skills necessary to address and resolve problems in life without turning to drugs.
In order to ensure their success in rehabilitating individuals, Narconon Arrowhead works hard to improve their program delivery and results. While self-correction is valuable and very helpful, it can also be highly beneficial to receive consultative accreditation and implement any suggested changes. Not only does this ensure consistently high standards of service, it also verifies a program’s success rate to the public, for whom such proven levels of success are important.
About Rehabilitation Center Accreditation & CARF
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) was founded in 1966 as an independent accreditor of health and human services. Serving nearly 50,000 programs in over 22,000 locations, CARF performs accreditation services for programs in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. With a mission to promote the quality, value and outcomes of services through their consultative accreditation process, CARF intends to assist in the improvement of programs and services delivered, and thereby further enhance the lives of the individuals who are serviced.
The CARF Board of Directors set the standards for treatment programs and services at the high levels necessary for said treatment to produce excellent results and truly rehabilitated individuals. Participating in and receiving CARF accreditation is a lengthy, complex process that requires dedication and commitment from the facility’s leadership and staff, and a willingness to continually improve one’s program, services and delivery.
Narconon Arrowhead’s CARF Accreditation Report
There are many different parts to a successful rehabilitation program. Following are some of the key areas in which CARF holds high standards:
– The environment
The environment in which individuals are undertaking their rehabilitation program can have an affect on their success. Highly distractive, noisy or confusing environments do not allow the individual to focus on their treatment goals and progress smoothly to them.
– The training and demeanor of the staff
Drug rehabilitation is not an easy process. Disconnecting oneself from the stranglehold of drug addiction can require patience and persistence that the individual himself doesn’t have. He needs supportive, caring staff who understand exactly what he is going through and what needs to occur in order for him to make it through.
– The facility’s value to the community
A rehabilitation facility has a responsibility to help educate others in the community regarding the effects of drugs and how to prevent or rehabilitate drug addiction.
– The success rate of the program
No matter how complex a rehabilitation program or how well-trained the staff are, it still needs to consistently result in full rehabilitation in order to be considered successful and valuable.
During the CARF accreditation process, Narconon Arrowhead’s program, services, staff, facility and more were evaluated against CARF’s high standards. The CARF accreditation report of November 2013 found that Narconon Arrowhead not only meets many of CARF’s high standards, but also exceeds CARF standards in areas of organizational management.
The CARF accreditation report states that Narconon Arrowhead is located in a beautiful environment that is conducive to program participants focusing on their program and recovery. They found that Narconon Arrowhead staff are clearly dedicated to their jobs and always have a positive demeanor in working with their patients and others. Many staff are themselves graduates of the Narconon program which allows them to better understand what their patients are going through and offer the requisite support and encouragement to make it through even the most difficult parts of the program. Narconon Arrowhead has made many efforts in the community, especially over the past few years, to help educate others in the effects of drugs and how to prevent or resolve drug addiction, for which the surrounding community is very grateful.
CARF also found that Narconon Arrowhead’s leadership and staff are committed to excellence and accountability, and are constantly striving to improve their program and delivery in order to always reach the highest standards possible and achieve the best results. The Narconon program does not end when the patient withdraws from drugs, but continues through delivering to them the skills necessary to move forward into healthy, productive futures no matter what challenges life presents them. Narconon graduates are checked on frequently after graduation and are encouraged to return as needed in order to get help with maintaining their sobriety. Narconon patients and graduates routinely report that the staff are caring and provide the encouragement and support necessary for them to fully address and resolve their addiction and the causes behind it so that they can move forward into a better future.
