CrayonsMake Your Goals Come True, Say No to Drugs! Say Yes to Life! is the title of a new and very special coloring book, illustrated by teenage artists wanting to help in the creation of this educational guide which serves to steer young children and their peers in a direction towards  accomplishments in life, and away from drug abuse.

More About the Booklet

With experts in agreement that peer pressure is one of key factors in encouraging youth to start using drugs, it is crucial that children and young people are provided with the facts and education which will enable them to use good judgment and make wise choices when faced with peer pressure and the inevitable opportunity to try-out drugs and alcohol.

The 16 page coloring book is filled with 35 original illustrations created by young local artists, with the purpose of showing the children how they can achieve their goals.  Each page of the coloring booklet features a concise lesson on what a young person can do to enable him or her to realize their personal dreams.  The different lessons include wise advice on taking care of one’s health, learning and practicing newly acquired skills, working hard to achieve one’s personal goals, and the importance of staying away from harmful drugs.  On the second page of the booklet, a Spanish translation of the text is included for non-English speaking parents to enable them to follow along with their children who do read and speak English. The back cover of the booklet features the eight young artists, all volunteers, who contributed their time and art to the project, including a picture and short bio of each artist.

According to the creator of the project, Sigal Adini, Executive Director of Narconon Drug Prevention and Education, she wanted to give young people the opportunity to help their peers and their communities by giving these young artists the opportunity to contribute their artwork to the drug education coloring book.  For more information about Make Your Goals Come True, Say No to Drugs! More About Effective Drug Education

The need to reach as many children and youth as rapidly and effectively as possible with effective drug education is the reality that all of us who care about our children and their future need to face.

A recent survey from the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse states that 86% of high school students in the U.S. see their classmates either using drugs, and drinking or smoking sometime during the school day. More than 50 % of these same high school students say there is a location near their school where students routinely go to get high on drugs during school hours.

Narconon Arrowhead Drug Rehabilitation Center has a long history of delivering proven and effective drug education to schools in the states of Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.  According to Narconon Arrowhead Executive Director, Gary Smith, our young people need to know the destructive power of drugs before they end-up falling into the trap of substance abuse and addiction.  It is for this reason that Narconon Arrowhead supports and sponsors the drug education classes into hundreds of schools across the Oklahoma and two adjacent states.  Smith also added that Narconon Arrowhead knows their drug education curriculum works, its purpose being to save our next generation from addiction and prevent its need of recovery from addiction.  It is a vital part of Narconon Arrowhead’s worthy and effective mission to reach tens of thousands of students each and every year with a drug-free message.
