Steffon’s Narconon Arrowhead Story

When an individual turns to drug use, whatever their initial reason for doing so, the fact is that they are giving up some control of their life to these dangerous chemical substances. The truly unfortunate part of this whole process is the fact that by the time the individual recognizes how thoroughly drugs are controlling and destroying their life, they often also discover that they cannot simply quit their drug use on their own. Some individuals find this fact so embarrassing and shameful that they refuse to reach out for help. Others try to reach out for help, and can be greatly disappointed when the help they receive does not actually result in their successful and lasting recovery. It is in situations like these that effective rehabilitation treatment can not only be greatly appreciated, but can actually seem quite miraculous.
Steffon’s Story of Recovery
Steffon admits that his drug abuse and addiction experience was a very bad one. Through the course of his drug use he watched helplessly as his behavior changed completely, and he became someone that he didn’t recognize. He entirely lost himself, and didn’t even know who he was or what he wanted anymore. While he was using drugs he participated in activities that he knew were wrong, and that he genuinely didn’t want to be part of, but somehow he just couldn’t stop himself.
Steffon started to feel very badly about the person he had become, especially when he considered how carefully and lovingly his family had raised him so that he would understand and respect the basics of morality and honesty. His behavior and actions while under the influence of drugs seemed to completely disregard all that he had been taught, and Steffon desperately wanted help to put an end to his drug use.
Prior to arriving at Narconon, Steffon tried several other rehabilitation treatment programs to no avail. He found that these programs seemed to focus on having individuals talk about their drug use, which only served to drive Steffon into further drug use himself. He felt that these rehabilitation treatment programs didn’t provide for him a safe enough environment to actually fully and permanently disconnect from drug use – his drug addiction always seemed to remain just there in front of him. He could never quite get hold of himself enough to stop using, and he needed more help.
At Narconon Arrowhead, Steffon got the help he truly needed and wanted. He was never asked to simply sit and talk about drug use with others, but rather was set upon a path to take back control of his own life by addressing and resolving the basic factors underlying his continued drug use. It all began with the sauna detoxification program, which Steffon thought was excellent because it helped him cleanse residual drug toxins from his body and finally put an end to his cravings. Even better, it helped Steffon restore a physical health and comfort he hadn’t known for years, as well as a clearer state of mind. But the program didn’t end there.
Through the Narconon life skills courses, Steffon learned about why he had turned to drug use in the first place, and how he could better handle life’s challenges in the future without turning to these dangerous substances. He gained the skills he needs to communicate effectively with others, avoid dangerous personalities that may seek to do him harm, improve conditions in his life and much more. Steffon graduated from the Narconon program not only as a sober individual, but indeed as a confident, happy individual who is excited to take on a healthier future.
