What the Narconon Program Showed Me About My Future

When I came here a few months ago, I had lost my way a little bit, or a lotta bit. I'd fallen into despair and was making destructive decisions, including my use of drugs and alcohol, and some other spending habits.
Going through the Drug-free Withdrawal step was helpful for me. I was able to connect with nature on some outdoor walks and keep my mind and attention focused with special drills. I felt physically healthy thanks to the meals provided, vitamin supplements, good hydration, and good rest. The withdrawal program had me feeling much better and ready for the next step.
The New Life Detoxification helped to rid my body of toxins. My body felt clean of alcohol, anesthetics, and other toxins, flushed out through the program. This also helped to grant me some peace of mind, knowing my body was free from these things. A nice bonus of the program was that I got into shape, thanks to running every day. It felt great!
The next part of the program was the Objectives. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, and continued to have some questions along the way, but that was a good part of the process for me. I learned to persevere through uncertainty and to stay focused on the task at hand, such as seeing other ways the Objectives could relate and translate to my personal life. I really liked going through the experience with a twin (another student who was my partner) so I could share my wins and also share in someone else's wins. It was fun to share our successes along the way!
The Overcoming Ups and Downs in Life course helped me to more clearly identify the people and things in my life. I knew I had some good people in my life, but in reviewing how people have supported me and aimed to help me, I was able to see how my actions hurt them even if I didn't intend to. This course also helped me to identify people I should avoid and cut ties with. Going through the process of cutting ties and making apologies to those I owed them to and learning what I did on this course was an important step in getting me on a positive path in life.
The Personal Values course had its challenges, but also its benefits. It was challenging to sit down and face the wrongs I've committed in my life. It was difficult to go back to some of those times, some of my worst moments, and then write them down. It's difficult to sit in all the emotions that these memories can stir up, but it's also very beneficial. Sharing some of these memories brought a sense of relief, and some of them brought further realizations as I thought about those moments, memories, and emotions. There's also the benefit of rediscovering your own moral code. It wasn't easy looking at the long list of ways I've been harmful to myself and others, but it enlightened me as to how often I broke my own moral code, and how easily some actions can be avoided, particularly if any trends are noticed - and yes, I noticed some trends. The Personal Values course was not easy, but it was very helpful to me, and I will take the lessons and reintroduction to personal and social morals with me on my new path.
The Changing Conditions in Life Course got me to see the different steps or conditions a person can exist in, and how that impacts them and the people around them. It was good to learn about how people come to be in each condition, and what would be required for them to move on to a better condition. It was also good to see what constitutes someone as being in a condition of normal, and how that can positively impact those around him.
“This program has something for everyone and it's designed and broken down into different stages – each with their own purpose – and it's extremely effective.”
This program has something for everyone, and it's designed and broken down into different stages – each with its own purpose – and it's extremely effective. It got me healthy, alleviated some of my angst and despair, forced me to look at my decisions, allowed me to own them, helped me take steps to get past them, and showed me what I need to continue to do after today to continue living a healthy and happy life.
