20 Years of Being Sober Because of Narconon

S.D., Narconon Graduate

Before I started using drugs, I was very much a workaholic. I had a family, and life was good. I graduated high school in Irving, Texas. My happiest moment was when I had my daughter and started a family.

When I was 33 years old, I went to a party with my husband and some friends, and that is where I got introduced to meth, which then destroyed my life.

As a result, I ended up getting divorced and lost my family, my home, and basically lost everything. I got arrested, and the choice was either to continue using or to get help. I knew that a 30-day rehab program wasn’t going to work. I researched for days online to find a longer program, and I found Narconon. My mother and my aunt helped me get there, and my brother drove all the way from Arkansas to Texas to pick me up. When I first got there, I was scared but eager. The staff were the best. I was able to be involved and be part of a group that was in the same situation as me.

I confronted my past and the loss of a loved one. I got really healthy because of the Detox. Before, I had hormone imbalances and other health issues, and the sauna program fixed these. It cleaned out my body, and now all I need is vitamins, not medicines.

I graduated on my daughter’s birthday and was able to give my daughter the best birthday gift she could ever have—a mother that was now drug-free.

Now my relationship with my family is good and life is great. I am cruising through life. I found a wonderful man that I have now been with for 14 years. My daughter is a successful accountant.

“My favorite thing about being drug-free is that I am able to live life. You can’t do that on drugs.”

My advice to anyone who is currently addicted would be to go to Narconon.

Do it for yourself, not for other people. You can only get out of it what you put into it.

I did, and this October, I celebrated 20 years of being sober because of Narconon.
