A Life Truly Worth Living

Kate D., Narconon Arrowhead Graduate

Congratulations to Narconon Arrowhead’s most recent graduate. Here is her story of how the Narconon program changed her life:

“Before coming to Narconon, I developed my identity solely based on what other people thought of me. I held their opinions, comments, and remarks over my own until I truly lost who I was. I lost myself and only continued to spiral down the hole that I created, continued to victimize myself, and blamed others for my problems. I abused substances as an easy way out of my own living hell. A hell I thought could not get worse but did because of the harm and damage I put upon myself, my family, friends, associated groups, and society. My maladaptive behaviors were only leading me to continued selfishness and eventually death. I finally realized I needed help. My older brother, whom I cherished and looked up to, came to Narconon 24 years ago. I wanted whatever he gained from coming to this program. So, I made the willing decision, with the help of my family, to come to Narconon.

Withdrawal allowed me to live in the present time and be there comfortably.

I rid my body of all its toxic substances and cravings through the New Life Detoxification program.

Training Drills and Objectives (communication skills and exercises to bring an individual’s attention out of the past and into the present) brought me realizations I will never forget, awareness I needed, and increased my ability to communicate more effectively and efficiently.

I regained my honesty and integrity, my morals, and ethics. Sharing my overts and withholds (past transgressions) with staff allowed me to finally feel free in the Personal Values Course. The last part of the program, Life Skills, allowed me to understand who I was and who I have become and has given me the tools and goals I will continue after I leave Narconon.

“I thank God for bringing me this program, for the staff helping me mend what was broken inside of me, rebuilding my relationships with my family, and preparing me to live a life to the fullest—a life truly worth living!”

Thank you so much to my family for your continued love, support, and faith in me. Thank you to my fellow friends and staff for creating such a powerful and unforgettable experience. You all are remarkable in so many unique and different ways!

Truly, thank you each individually for who you are and how you’ve helped me flourish back into the person I once was.”
