Developing New Skills for a Drug-Free Life – A Narconon Arrowhead Journal

Narconon Arrowhead

When overcoming addiction to drugs and alcohol, individuals need to address many aspects of their lives and develop skills to lead drug-free lives. Students at Narconon Arrowhead learn those skills and gain those abilities every step of the way.

Here is what some of our recent students have to say as they progress step by step through their recovery journey:

Withdrawal

“I am so happy and proud of myself for pushing (with help from the awesome staff) through the Withdrawal step of the program. It was difficult at first only because I came from med detox. It was comfortable (as much as it possibly could be) with the staff. This could be one of the hardest, but best decisions to push through, but I did it. I am proud. I am done with withdrawal.”

New Life Detoxification

“I feel way better - more energy, more sharp, more bright, full of hope, enthusiastic, more clarity. I feel like a lot of weight came off of me – I’m lighter. Thanks to everyone that helped me to go through this sauna detox.”

Life Skills Courses

“From the Overcoming Ups and Downs in Life Course I learned about the social characteristics of people. The book broke it down into two categories – anti-social and social characteristics/personalities. I learned who I want and should be in my circle of friends and who shouldn’t be. This new skill will help me find new solid relationships with people that only want the best for me”

“When I first came to Narconon I was lost physically and emotionally. I was doing cocaine every single day of my life and lost everything. Now I’m sober, healthier than I’ve been in a very long time and wish to keep it that way.”

Each step comes together and builds up to someone who is able to live a drug-free life. This is like what our latest graduate had to say:

“When I first came to Narconon I was lost physically and emotionally. I was doing cocaine every single day of my life and lost everything. Now I’m sober, healthier than I’ve been in a very long time and wish to keep it that way. I’ve learned to deal with many frustrations. I’ve gained lots of tolerance and patience which I needed, and I feel ready to do with my life something good.”
