My Biggest Accomplishment is Total Sobriety

Narconon Arrowhead Long-term Graduate

I was born and grew up in Kansas City and lived a regular life. I graduated high school happy and ready for life. I wanted to get married and have a family. The moments I cherish most were being with my family.

Instead, I started using cocaine when I was 22 years old. First I was snorting it and then I ended up smoking it. My ex was the one who first got me to try it “for fun.” After a few months, I was completely dependent on him and on the drugs. It ruined every aspect of my life. I eventually became secluded from my family and friends. I lost control. It wasn’t fun anymore, but I couldn’t stop. Drugs ran my life for many years. My bad choices started to get me into trouble with the law.

One day, I looked at my son and he had such a deep sadness in his eyes. At that moment, I decided I had to quit. I was destroying my life and his, and that is what made me realize that I had to change.

My cousin had been to Narconon and successfully gotten through the program, so he in turn helped me get in.

When I came to Narconon, I was nervous at first, but the staff were so friendly and nice that I settled in quickly. My time at Narconon was one of my favorite times in my whole life because everyone understood me and had experienced similar things. In fact, it was hard for me to leave when I graduated but I was also excited to go home.

The sauna was really good, and I found it relaxing. I could feel the drugs coming out, and I got in good shape. My body really healed and I felt stronger.

Then on the courses, I confronted what I had done and got relief. I gained a different viewpoint of what I had done to others and the effects. At that point, I was getting better and I didn’t want to go back to where I had been before. I knew I was done with that lifestyle and wouldn’t go back to drugs.

While at Narconon, I got me-time. This was the first time I was able to do that and think about myself, and it opened my eyes to how messed up I had gotten. I was numb all those years and now I can feel again.

“Since graduating, I have rebuilt everything in my life. I have been able to raise my kids and watch them grow up. I have a wonderful family now, and even through everything I put them through, they never left me. We are a closer family now than ever before.”

Since graduating, I have rebuilt everything in my life. I have been able to raise my kids and watch them grow up. I have a wonderful family now, and even through everything I put them through, they never left me. We are a closer family now than ever before.

If anyone out there is struggling, keep your eye on the prize. I put myself into Narconon. No one else did it. My prize was my kids, and that is what got me through it. You have to do it for yourself. Everybody’s life is worth it.

My biggest accomplishment is total sobriety. I had tried for 15 years on and off to stop using but I couldn’t. I would be dead if it wasn’t for Narconon.
