Empty and Alone:
My Worst Mistake

“I kept struggling with the addiction and I started to loathe myself.
I was trapped in a never-ending cycle of trouble and
didn’t know how I would ever be free of meth.”
Bradley, Narconon Arrowhead Student

I felt so empty inside. I was worn down and felt so alone. I just wanted it all to stop. My name is Bradley and this is why I am glad I chose Narconon.

I was 17 years old when I first tried meth. I guess you can say that since the beginning I fell in love with the addiction. It all started because I thought it was fun to do. As time went on I started to totally rely on meth.

My addiction became my life. My use of meth became so expensive that I couldn’t afford it anymore so I was on the hunt to find someone to teach me how to cook it.

By this time I was age 22 and felt like I was on top of the world. I met a guy and he showed me how to cook and that was the worst mistake I have ever made. Shortly after learning to cook meth I was arrested and my life turned upside down. I kept struggling with the addiction and I started to loathe myself. I was trapped in a never-ending cycle of trouble and didn’t know how I would ever be free of meth.

Then I found Narconon—this place saved my life. Narconon taught me that addiction can be cured and they will continue to work with you here till you become drug free and beat your addiction.

There are many steps to the Narconon program. Step one is withdrawal. After withdrawal you begin your sauna detox, which is where I rid myself of my craving for meth. I felt like a new man, like I had never tried meth, like I was a newborn looking at the world through clear eyes and a clear mind. Objectives kept me in the present and made me forget what it was like to get high and life skills taught me how to choose friends and make amends with my past. I was able to repair the damaged I caused to my family and I love myself again. What can I say, I am free, free from addiction and free to live life drug-free for good.

Narconon changed my life forever.
