Rick’s Narconon Arrowhead Experience

Each person is a distinct individual, and his or her journey to sobriety is uniquely his own. Narconon Arrowhead, a long-term residential drug rehabilitation and education center, takes a drug-free and holistic approach to rehabilitating the addict and alcoholic. Those who do the Narconon program delivered at the Oklahoma-based center routinely find it a life-changing experience.

A Drug-Free Rehab Program

Rick’s story is different than many addicts who live an often chaotic and destructive addiction lifestyle. According to Rick, he was doing well before arriving at Oklahoma-based Narconon Arrowhead.

He describes himself as what is called a “functioning drug addict”. He held a really good job. He kept his life pretty much in order, except for the drug problem which eventually spiraled out of control.

He says that due to his drug use, he lost a lot of communication with his family. He stopped being a good Dad, and a good husband. When he realized he had reached that point, he “just knew I needed help at that time.”

So, he got hold of his parents, and let them know what was going on. He says he “kinda confessed to everybody”, so to say. His family found Narconon for him. And he came to Narconon Arrowhead.

When he first arrived at the Oklahoma rehab center, he was a little nervous. He was older than many there, at age 37.

He came into the center. He says there were a lot of people there. As soon as he went to the Drug-Free Withdrawal, the first thing a new arrival does, he found everybody there was so helpful. It got him in the groove of being at Narconon Arrowhead, and in the groove of what to expect.

Rick was on his way to reclaiming his life from addiction, and beginning his journey to long-term sobriety and a new life without drugs.

Drug Rehabilitation Success

Rick says the part of the Narconon program which had the biggest impact in him was learning communication skills and he states he learned “how to really acknowledge people when they talk to me. And really listen to what they say.”

That, he says, was his biggest win. He learned how to confront people ”and really communicate with them.”

Since finishing the program, Rick says he feels awesome. He has had the most communication with his parents, with his wife, and with his kids. According to Rick, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences he has ever had.

In speaking about the Narconon Arrowhead drug rehabilitation program, Rick says, “I’ve done this. I’ve completed it. I feel great.”

“I no longer crave for drugs,” he says, “or even want to associate with people who do drugs.”

He adds that his work is way better. He really produces on his job. He gets a lot of things done every day.

“And I set goals for myself every day. And I feel really good about that.”
