Another “Win” for Kansas City

Kansas City, Missouri might be inundated with drug and alcohol addiction but it has success stories for which the citizens of Kansas City can take pride. One is the success of the Kansas City Royals and the other is the successful wins of a local man who recently recovered from his drug addiction at Narconon Arrowhead.

Luke—who happens to be a Kansas City Royals fan—came to Narconon Arrowhead without much hope for a drug-free life. However, after completing the program, he had this to say:

“When I came to Narconon I was depressed, sad, lonely and totally felt like the world didn’t want or need me in it. I just didn’t want to live. Narconon gave me the strength to get back on my feet again.

“They showed me that I was not alone. They taught me how to live without drugs again. I was a meth user for sixteen years and I was a functioning addict. I would spend my days getting high on meth—I thought that I needed it to function. When I didn’t use I was angry, depressed and a total dick. I didn’t love myself and blamed everyone else for my mess ups in life.

“That’s what Narconon helped me with the most—they showed me that human beings, in general, are not supposed to live like that. First, Narconon put me through a Detoxification (Sauna) program that cleaned my body out and restored my mind. I never thought I would feel like I had never taken drugs but that is exactly how I feel now. I feel like I have never taken drugs or even tried drugs in my life— but of course, that isn’t true because I was an addict for sixteen years.

“Narconon then put me into the course room where it felt like they helped me to retrain my brain and reboot my body. They taught me that we can live every day without drugs and I can do anything without drugs, too. Every day comes with something new in it and no matter what happens or when it happens, I get through it without drugs.

“You might get mad, you might get sad, you might feel alone and depressed but despite those feelings, you will survive
and you will be happy again.”

“You might get mad, you might get sad, you might feel alone and depressed but despite those feelings, you will survive and you will be happy again. It’s just about staying focused in the present (not in the past), and being clearheaded and staying openminded about your life. You need to keep being as positive as you can about situations in your life.

“Staying positive is the key. Just always know that whatever is happening, it will pass and it is up to you to keep moving forward and know in your heart that there is a lesson to be learned from everything that is happening in your life. Narconon gave these abilities back to me and I have them to thank for it. I would recommend Narconon to anybody who thinks that they don’t have a purpose in life anymore or who thinks they will be an addict for the rest of their lives. Because I can positively say that I am no longer an addict and that Narconon gave me this smile back and this motivation to succeed in life again.

“I have a son and I can’t wait to go back home and be the dad that I was meant to be and the father I was supposed to be. I will never put myself in a position of doing drugs again. I can tell you that Narconon made it possible for me to be strong enough in my mind and life again to ’just say no.’ I once said in the course room that for the first time in my life it felt so good to say that ’It’s God Damn Good to Say No!’ I have Narconon to thank for this clear mind and body, so if you think that there is nobody who cares and no hope in life—please pick up that phone and call Narconon. They gave me back my power of love and purpose in life.

“THANK YOU NARCONON!“—Luke, Narconon Graduate from Kansas City, MO
