It should come as no shocker that some drugs are more dangerous than others. So, what is the most dangerous drug? Well, a quick inquiry with our friends over at the Center for Disease Control provides us with the answer.

Now, I’m a fan of judging a person by their actions rather than their intentions, and we should probably give a drug the same treatment. Some drugs have the potential to be more dangerous than others, but, I want to know what drugs are actually killing Americans in volume. So, here is the list of the TOP 10 MOST DANGEROUS DRUGS IN AMERICA and how many people they’ve killed. (Click on the drug name for more information about each drug.)

10) DIAZEPAM: Number of Deaths Per Year = 1,729
9) HYDROCODONE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 3,274
8) METHADONE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 3,495
7) METHAMPHETAMINE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 3,728
6) MORPHINE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 4,022
5) FENTANYL: Number of Deaths Per Year = 4,200
4) ALPRAZOLAM: Number of Deaths Per Year = 4,217
3) OXYCODONE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 5,417
2) COCAINE: Number of Deaths Per Year = 5,856
1) HEROIN: Number of Deaths Per Year = 10,863

In looking at this depressing list of deadly dangerous drugs, one shocking reality has come to my attention; all of these drugs were approved by the Federal Government or created by the Federal Government. And, most of these drugs can be purchased legally in the United States.
