I Am SOBER Despite COVID-19

I’m very happy to be a graduate of the Narconon program as this program gave me the gift of a new life!

I got tons of wins on each step of the program which I would like to share.

Though I live in the US, as I am originally from Kazakhstan, I started my program in the Narconon of Moscow. I was extremely underweight when I started the first part of the program, withdrawal. The first few days, it was really hard to sleep and I had nightmares. Before arriving to Narconon, I had trouble falling asleep and had a very poor appetite. But I got through all of this on my withdrawal step. The Narconon staff really helped me a lot with trust. As I completed my first step, I did not have nightmares anymore, slept fine, and even got my appetite back.

In the next step of the program, the New Life Detoxification, I went through different feelings and experienced different manifestations. These were really strong, and I had thoughts that I wish I didn’t have—but with each day they were less and less, and they didn’t have an effect on me by the end of this step. I felt great physically and I even started exercising and working out with other students.

Shortly after the completion of the New Life Detox, COVID-19 really started to bloom in Europe, Russia, and the U.S. There was talk of the U.S. border closing to other countries for an undetermined amount of time. Together with my family, we decided it was best to return to the states and complete the program in another Narconon facility.

I arrived to Narconon Arrowhead, and went through their extensive COVID precautions, from a quarantine period, to their decontamination procedures, which were kept throughout my time on the program, all done with tremendous care, and then I started my next step. Before I started using drugs, I had the ability to communicate and at some point, I just stopped and surrounded myself with people who just like me, also did not wish to communicate. Also while I was taking drugs, I was unable to control objects surrounding me. Getting through this next step, made my skill of communicating much higher, and actually started using this skill.

Each process gave me different skills, but by the end of the objectives, I got the ability to stay in the present time. Now I can, and I do pay attention to objects around me and it is a fantastic feeling.

My next step which I finished successfully was “life skills” courses with practicals. I learned how to see both good and bad people. I learned how to handle bad people in such a way that it would not affect me negatively. I broke off my relations with people who shouldn’t be in my life. I realized how much I actually value and love my life. Finally, I completed the course Changing Conditions in Life. The staff actually and truly helped me and directed me so I was able to create a plan for my future happy existence. Now, I feel like can’t wait to work on my Conditions once I am back home. I can actually apply it and have a plan that was made for me, BY ME, and I will happily stick to it and will make it happen.

Narconon gave me a lot of pleasant moments, ideas, and great friends. Narconon gave me a gift of a brand new life in which I can make my family, friends, and most of all, myself proud.

I was studying at the University of Florida when hurricane Harvey hit. The destruction that Harvey wrought opened my eyes to the world and those that were in desperate need of help. Since then, I found my calling at Narconon Arrowhead where I have helped hundreds of individuals move on to live new, drug-free lives.
