The last few years have seen hundreds of court cases levied against pharmaceutical companies for their role in fueling the opioid epidemic. One recent development came in the form of an unfortunate loss for plaintiffs, when the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled in favor of Johnson & Johnson.

Is the Death Penalty For Dealers a Deterrent, or A Smoke Screen?

President Trump is suggesting stiffer penalties for certain individuals who are convicted of dealing drugs. This could include the death penalty. According to Trump, “If we don’t get tough on the drug dealers, we are wasting our time.” Trump went on to say that dealers “will kill thousands of people during their lifetime” but won’t be punished for the carnage they cause. He went on to say that this punishment would be only used against the “big pushers, the ones who are really killing people.”

Time Magazine Releases “The Opioid Diaries”

TIME magazines release of this digital exhibit of the opioid crisis will create enough public outcry that we can stop big pharma and drug distributors from drugging our people and instead of throwing these addicts into the prison we insist they go into treatment.
