YOUTH AND DRUGS

Just in the last two decades, millions of people have fallen prey to drug habits, and hundreds of thousands of people have died from drug overdoses. But who is actually falling prey to addiction?
It has been said that a society is built on the quality of its education and that society is torn down when ignorance outweighs its knowledge. The United States ranks 17th in the world for student performance in reading, math, and science, according to The Guardian.
The U.S. struggles with an addiction problem, but this is not a problem that affects all of us equally. While there are over 20 million people in the U.S. who misuse drugs and alcohol regularly, some demographics and specific sectors of the population tend to suffer more than others do.
