Just last year, a task force was formed to crack down on illegal drug use in Cherokee County. Officials seized many different drugs, including LSD, meth and medical marijuana that were brought into Oklahoma illegally from California and Colorado. In other local news, police searched the home of a suspected meth dealer, making several arrests and confiscating some meth and a vehicle believed to be used to transport and deliver drugs. Police had previously arrested the suspected dealer, Derek Allen Horney, on drug-related charges. They learned that he was dealing again, so they obtained a warrant and executed a search. Several of the other people arrested were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
